Britain isn’t well known for fantastic weather – hence one of the reasons why so many people decide to fly off to more of the exotic locations throughout the world. Of all the strange weathers that there have been, Birmingham trumped them all with a tornado a few years ago – not massively extreme but quite extraordinary! This, fortunately, is not a regular occurrence and the weather in Birmingham is usually part of a relatively temperate weather system. Of course, there are very few types of weather that result in flights being cancelled and, frankly, they aren’t going to be seen at Birmingham airport! However, it is always good to know what the weather is like at an airport you will be arriving at – it allows you to dress accordingly so that you avoid the inevitable scenario of arriving back in Britain after your holiday in a hot, sunny country dressed in shorts and t-shirt, only to get off the plane in a downpour!

However, this summer we have seen a remarkable upturn in the weather that makes it feel as though we are on holiday already! Temperatures have soared and can be expected to reach as high as 25°C this coming week. With it comes the fantastic sunshine with barely a cloud in sight; any rain is forecast for the end of the week and, even then, it will only be a light shower. The advice, therefore, is to slip, slap, slop; slip on a shirt, slap on a hat and slop on the sun tan lotion!
