It may sound like a cliché, and I know you have probably heard the same thing said about many other cities, but the city of Birmingham, England really does have a rich and interesting history with a lot of old buildings and landmarks still around today just waiting to be explored. But before you get started on making a list of all of the places you will want to visit you are going to need to decide on a mode of transport; the obvious choice for me was to get a Birmingham airport car rental because I was arriving by plane and I almost always choose to go with rental cars when I am traveling. If you feel confident and safe using public transport then that is always an option but that just isn’t something I enjoy while on vacation.

Whichever mode of transport you choose, whether it is a car rental from Birmingham airport or public transport, the important thing is to choose something that you enjoy and can be comfortable with so that your vacation will be a happy one.

As for the sights you can visit, there really are just too many to list and of course it all depends on what interests you. Personally I enjoy seeing the older parts of the city such as Aston Hall which was built around 1618 and has recently been refurbished, although a fair amount of the original architecture still remains as well as beautiful gardens, and opened to the public once again.
