Just over four months ago, I received an e-mail from an old friend of mine. Although we hadn’t talked in several years (since our lives had taken us in different directions), I was very excited to receive his e-mail. We exchanged several e-mails with each other, and then after about a week of emailing, we started talking on the phone. Even though it had been several years since we had talked, once we started again, it seemed like we were able to pick up right where we left off. Because we were clicking so well again, after about a week of talking on the phone, my friend asked me if I would be interested in visiting him in Birmingham. Once I looked at my schedule and realised that I was going to have some time off, I immediately agreed to his offer.

After getting off the phone with my friend, I got on-line and booked my flight. Even though I booked my flight just two and a half weeks before my actual trip, I got really lucky and was able to get a really good deal on my flight.

When I arrived at the Birmingham airport, my friend was there to pick me up. Just like when we started talking on the phone again, once we saw each other in person, it seemed like it had only been a couple of weeks since we had seen each other (instead of a couple of years). I had a great time in Birmingham with my friend, and I’m so glad that we got this opportunity to reconnect with each other.
